Lord Hayward, a Conservative peer, told Sky News this morning that he did not believe Boris Johnson’s claim that is the victim of a stitch-up. (See 9.26am.) “I think it’s unlikely to be ‘a stitch-up’, it’s just a series of events, which have to be looked at,” he said.

According to Cat Neilan from Tortoise, some Tories are talking about the possibility of a leadership challenge against Rishi Sunak.
